Resident Donates Oxygen Masks for Pets - Johns Creek, GA Patch

After a successful donation drive at the Wild Birds Unlimited?in Johns Creek recently, local resident Sharon Smith has announced that enough money for four oxygen kits for pets from Wag?N O2 Fur Life, The Pet Oxygen Mask Initiative, was collected.?

The four oxygen kits for pets were scheduled be donated to Joe Popadics of the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. The kits will be given to the Alpharetta Fire Department to be used in emergency situations.?

The Wag?N 02 Fur Life kits contain multiple masks that are adequately sized for many sizes of dogs, cats, birds and even ferrets, rabbits and hamsters. The masks allow firefighters to help resuscitate pets who may be trapped in a home where there is a fire by fitting snuggly over the animals nose and mouth and allows them to breath oxygen if they?ve suffered from smoke inhalation.?

Smith said ?the generosity of many of the customers who came to Wild Birds Unlimited over the weekend was very heartwarming, and we are delighted to be able to offer these life-saving kits to the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety.? Smith also stated that she hopes to be able to raise additional money to help purchase more kits for the Johns Creek, Roswell and Milton emergency service departments.?

To drive the project and provide her community with project updates, Smith created a page on Facebook called Oxygen Fur Pets (http://www.facebook.com/OxygenFurPets). If you are interested in learning more about Oxygen Fur Pets, or if you would like to help with purchasing additional kits, contact Smith at sharon@thrivenutrition.net.??
