Switzerland?s leading banks, UBS AG (UBS) and Credit Suisse Group AG (CS), intend to declare huge job reductions in the coming weeks, Swiss weekly Sonntag announced, without mentioning any sources.
UBS intends to lower 3,000 to 5,000 jobs, while Credit Suisse would cut almost 1,000 or 2,000 posts, according to the newspaper.
Both banks were not willing to talk about job reductions.
UBS AG (USA) (NYSE:UBS) edged down -2.61% to close at $13.05 and its overall volume during last trading session was 2.15 million shares. UBS has earnings per share of $0.73. Its total market capitalization is $48.91 billion.
UBS is ahead of its 52 week low with 33.44% and its last month?s price volatility remained 1.54%. In its share capital UBS has 3.83 billion outstanding shares while 3.83 billion shares have been floated in market.
Credit Suisse, Switzerland?s No. 2 bank, would declare third-quarter earnings on Thursday. Its larger opponent UBS would announce its earnings on Oct. 30.
Credit Suisse Group AG (ADR) (NYSE:CS) fell -3.09% and closed at $23.49 with the total traded volume of 2.12 million shares. It has market capitalization of $30.14 billion while its total outstanding shares are 1.28 billion and its beta value stands at 1.42 times.
Citigroup Inc. (C) decided to shift a stable of internal hedge funds to a body managed by bank managers in an agreement hit ahead of the company?s top two managers, Vikram Pandit and John Havens, departed this week.
The bank revealed the move, stating it a ?carve-out,? in a footnote to a quarterly financial addition published on its website on Oct. 15.
Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C) dropped -3.28% and closed at $37.16 with the total traded volume of 59.60 million shares. Citigroup has earnings per share of $2.38 with the net profit margin of 14.19% and operating margin of 18.25%.
Citigroup has debt-to-equity ratio was 2.91.
